The TD spec exhaust flange is matched to finish the exhaust port the same way that the KTM engineers would want to. It’s a simple approach if the KTM engineers didn’t choose parts that already exist in their system it would drive the cost of the retail price of the bike up every year. I wouldn’t say that the stock exhaust flange is cutting a corner since the bikes are powerful and safe however, they can’t drive the price of the bikes up yearly and this exhaust flange is one of those areas where we can make a difference.
